• Gaza: Peace is the Problem

Peace doesn’t need more plans. Peace requires partners willing not to kill one another, but to understand one another.

    Operation Protective Edge Brief #6

Securing a final ceasefire arrangement that will preclude Hamas’s ability to restore its terrorist infrastructure will not be the only major challenge facing Israel the day after OPE. Israel will most likely face mounting international criticism and allegations concerning its military operations in Gaza. This will most likely include a new round of de-legitimizations efforts that might even exceed the post-Cast Lead round.

  • To save the Palestinians, Hamas must be eradicated

I have no idea how many Arabs or Israelis will save their lives if Hamas ceases to exist, but I expect that it will be many tens of thousands. On the other hand, without Hamas, it will be a lot easier to create a Palestinian State next to Israel.

  • Gaza, Israel, Iran and the right of self-defense

These terrorist leaders know that the more images of dead Palestinians they send to the media, whether they are, or not, real or from Gaza, the more public opinion and many Western leaders will press Israel for a ceasefire. That’s why Hamas leaders don’t mind using their own people as human shields since more pain and blood will feed their propaganda machine.

    Operation Protective Edge Brief #5

In the first 48 hours of the ground operation, IDF held its ground and revealed more than 30 tunnels including both defensive and storage tunnels and offensive terror tunnels leading into Israel. The soldiers uncovered a labyrinth of tunnels dug 20 meters deep and running 2kms towards Israeli territory with multiple exits. IDF Corps of Engineers have started blowing up and demolishing the discovered tunnels.
